A Relationship Marred by Coercion and Abuse

The trial, which spanned nearly two weeks, exposed the "toxic" dynamics of a relationship that began in the Auckland DJ scene. The complainant testified that she was "love-bombed" early on, but the relationship quickly turned exploratory and then coercive. She alleged that the defendant insisted on filming their sexual encounters and pressured her into participating in live cam sessions on pornographic sites. The woman stated she initially complied in an attempt to address his alleged pornography addiction, hoping it would help rebuild their family unit.

The Breach of Trust: Digital Harm and Threats

When the couple separated, the defendant reportedly weaponized the intimate footage. Evidence showed he sent screenshots of the explicit videos to the woman's mother and his entire circle of friends.

Malicious Intent: Court evidence included messages from the defendant stating, "I'll post your a everywhere" and "everyone is going to know everything."

Police Intervention: The complainant sought help from Auckland police while her phone was actively receiving threatening emails from the defendant.
