Historical Antecedents and Modern Inversion

The Tradition collection, first launched in 2005, is a tribute to the minimalist "subscription" watches invented in 1796. These historic pieces were designed for simplicity and reliability, featuring a large central barrel and a symmetrical train. The 2026 revitalization maintains this "inverted" arrangement, where the movement components are showcased on the dial side, surrounding a reduced time-display sub-dial at the 12 o’clock position. This layout creates a three-dimensional landscape of hand-finished steel and gold that emphasizes the brand's 250-year heritage.

The Tradition Seconde Rétrograde 7037: A Study in Blue

The new Seconde Rétrograde 7037 makes a striking departure from traditional Breguet aesthetics by presenting its entire movement in a deep blue finish. Housed in a 38mm white gold case, the watch features a white grand feu enamel hours-and-minutes dial with Arabic numerals, a modern choice over the brand's classic Roman numerals. To the left of this sub-dial is the signature retrograde small seconds indicator. The piece is finished with a shot-blasted mainplate and a hand-guilloché barrel cover, paired with a saddle-stitched blue rubber strap—a nod to the evolving preferences of younger luxury collectors.

The Tradition GMT 7067: Dual-Time Complexity

For the international traveler, Breguet has introduced the Tradition GMT 7067, which replaces the retrograde seconds with a sophisticated dual-time complication. The local time is read on a sub-dial at 12 o’clock, while a secondary display at 8 o’clock tracks home time. This model features a graduated grand feu enamel dial that shifts from pine green at the center to black at the perimeter. Encased in 40mm of platinum, the 7067 also includes a day-night indicator at 10 o’clock and offers the unique option of silver Chinese numerals on the dial, reflecting Breguet's strong presence in the global market.
