Oil Producing Youth Leadership Endorses Continuity in Pipeline Security
The Urhobo Youth Wing of the Host Communities of Nigeria Producing Oil and Gas, known as HOSTCOM, has issued a formal commendation following the Federal Government’s decision to renew the pipeline surveillance contract for Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited. Led by Comrade Sweet Otiotio, the Delta State Chapter described the contract extension for High Chief Government Ekpomupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, as a strategic victory for national economic stability. According to the youth leadership, the renewal serves as a validation of the effective security measures implemented over the previous contract cycle, which have directly contributed to the protection of Nigeria’s primary revenue streams.
Resistance to Dissenting Pressures and Selfish Regional Interests
In his address to stakeholders, Comrade Otiotio praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for maintaining a firm stance against what he characterized as "dissenting voices driven by selfish interests." The HOSTCOM Youth Leader noted that the Federal Government’s refusal to bow to external pressures demonstrates a commitment to performance based governance rather than political appeasement. By prioritizing the proven capabilities of Tantita Security Services, the administration has signaled that the safeguarding of critical oil and gas infrastructure remains a non negotiable priority for the current presidency, irrespective of regional pushback.
Measurable Reduction in Oil Theft and Illegal Refining Activities
The Urhobo youth wing highlighted a remarkable shift in the security landscape of the Niger Delta since Tantita took over surveillance operations. Statistics cited by the group indicate a substantial decrease in pipeline vandalism and the proliferation of illegal refining sites, which had previously decimated local ecosystems and drained the national treasury. Otiotio emphasized that this heightened security has allowed for a significant boost in Nigeria’s crude oil production capacity. This improvement in output is viewed as a win-win scenario, providing the Federal Government with increased revenue while simultaneously offering host communities a more stable and less polluted environment.
