Successful interceptions and defensive operations

The United Arab Emirates’ air defense systems were heavily engaged on Friday, detecting and destroying nine ballistic missiles and tracking a total of 112 drones. According to an official statement released by the Ministry of Defense on the social media platform X, 109 of the drones were successfully intercepted before reaching their targets. Three drones were reported to have crashed within the country’s borders. This latest engagement is part of a broader defensive effort to secure Emirati territory against ongoing aerial threats originating from Iran.

Cumulative impact of Iranian strikes

Since the commencement of what the ministry described as blatant Iranian aggression, Emirati authorities have documented a significant volume of incoming fire. Data provided by the Ministry of Defense reveals that air defenses have detected 205 ballistic missiles in total, with 190 of those successfully destroyed. Of the remaining missiles, 13 fell into the sea while two landed inside the country. Furthermore, the UAE has tracked 1,184 Iranian drones, intercepting 1,110 of them. In addition to these threats, air defense units have detected and neutralized eight cruise missiles.

Casualties and humanitarian consequences

The ongoing attacks have resulted in a tragic human toll, specifically among the country's international resident population. Authorities confirmed three fatalities involving nationals from Pakistan, Nepal, and Bangladesh. Additionally, 112 individuals have sustained minor injuries as a result of the strikes. Despite these casualties, the Ministry of Defense emphasized that its systems remain on high alert and are fully prepared to confront any further threats to the security and stability of the nation.
