A Global Alliance For The Digital Age

The two day summit, hosted at the U.S. Department of State and the White House, marks the official launch of the Fostering the Future Together coalition. Initiated by Melania Trump during the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, the alliance seeks to unify international efforts to empower children through enhanced access to technology and education. The gathering features a diverse delegation of first spouses alongside executives from twenty eight leading technology firms, including OpenAI, Google, Meta, and Microsoft. The primary objective is to develop actionable strategies for integrating artificial intelligence into classrooms while ensuring robust online safety protocols for the next generation.

Ukraine’s Digital Resilience On The World Stage

During her keynote address, Olena Zelenska highlighted that digital infrastructure has been a cornerstone of Ukrainian survival. She credited the "State in a Smartphone" concept, primarily executed through the Diia government application, with allowing millions of displaced citizens to access essential services remotely. Zelenska noted that while physical infrastructure often faces destruction, the digital state remains accessible on personal devices. This resilience was recently recognized by TIME magazine, which included Diia on its list of the best inventions of the year for its role in maintaining social stability during wartime.

The Mriia Educational Ecosystem

A significant portion of Zelenska’s presentation focused on the Mriia digital platform, an initiative launched by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. This unified ecosystem connects students, parents, and teachers in a single digital environment, providing streamlined access to educational materials, schedules, and communication tools. Currently, one in four Ukrainian educational institutions is integrated into the system, with recent expansions now including kindergartens through the Mriia Preschool module. Zelenska emphasized that these tools are not merely convenient but are essential for ensuring that learning remains uninterrupted regardless of the security situation on the ground.
