Outbreak Status and Geographic Spread

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has confirmed that the outbreak, which originated in the county of Kent, has now affected students at four separate schools and the University of Kent. Additionally, one case has been identified in a student in London, raising concerns about wider geographic transmission. Dr. Anjan Ghosh, Director of Public Health for Kent County Council, emphasized that authorities must rule out secondary transmissions before declaring the outbreak under control.
