Sharrieff Jr.: From the Gridiron to Medicine
The eldest of the Shah children, Sharrieff Jr., 32, was born on March 10, 1994, while his parents were still students at the University of Utah. He successfully followed the athletic path of his father, becoming a standout player for the University of Utah football team from 2014 to 2016. Playing as a safety, he had the unique experience of being coached by his father, the Utes' cornerbacks coach.
Beyond athletics, Sharrieff Jr. pursued a rigorous academic path, graduating with a pre-med degree. He currently works as an orthopedic medical assistant at University of Utah Health. During his mother’s legal proceedings, he emerged as a vocal advocate for her character, writing an emotional letter to the judge requesting compassion. In the letter, he acknowledged his mother's "recent mistakes" while maintaining that her positive impact on his life and her advocacy for social justice movements should not be overlooked.
Omar: Coming of Age in the Public Eye
Omar Shah, 19, was born in 2003 and has lived through the most turbulent years of the family’s public life while still residing in the family home. Like his brother and father, Omar has excelled in football, helping his high school team reach the playoffs during his senior year in 2022.
However, Omar’s experience is perhaps best known to RHOSLC viewers for the traumatic 2021 FBI raid on the "Shah Chalet." Jen Shah has spoken candidly about the moment federal agents pointed AR-15s at her teenage son and handcuffed him, an incident captured by their home security system. Jen frequently voiced her fears regarding the psychological toll the raid and the subsequent trial had on Omar, emphasizing the unique challenges of being a young Black man in a predominantly white community during a law enforcement encounter.
