The charges stem from a violent encounter on August 18, 2021, at Henderson Park. Just before 9:30 p.m., 20-year-old Wilbert Cruz and 18-year-old Jace Harris were discovered with fatal gunshot wounds near the intersection of Mockingbird Road and Palasota Drive. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene, sparking an investigation that has spanned several years.
