Enforcement and Impact on Residents
The operation, conducted on Monday, focused on individuals living in cars at the Sulphur Point reserve. Council staff cited national legislation regarding dog control and vehicle licensing to justify the actions.
Key outcomes of the operation included:
Impounded Dogs: Three dogs were taken because they were unregistered. While one was released after registration, others remain in council custody.
Fines: Multiple fines were issued for unregistered vehicles and dogs. One resident, Samantha Bradley, reported receiving three new fines, bringing her total debt to approximately $1,400.
Vehicle Removals: Immobile or illegal vehicles were subject to towing.
