Digital Harassment Evolves Into International Stalking

A long-term investigation into aggravated stalking reached a conclusion this week as Yuma detectives detailed the extraordinary measures taken by a suspect to reach his victim. The case began six years ago when the victim, then a teenager, ceased communication with Filip Lipinski on the messaging platform Discord due to his disturbing behavior. According to police reports, Lipinski responded by posting threatening messages online, initiating a pattern of behavior that would eventually span thousands of miles and several years.

Suspect’s Repeated Travel and Relocation to Arizona

Despite residing in Denmark, Lipinski reportedly made three separate trips to Yuma between 2022 and 2026 for the express purpose of following the victim. The victim, now 21, informed investigators that she spotted Lipinski stalking her and her sibling on multiple occasions during these visits. In a significant escalation in the fall of 2025, Lipinski moved from Denmark to Yuma permanently and enrolled as a student at Kofa High School. This relocation allowed him to maintain a constant physical presence in the victim’s community, further intensifying the harassment.

The Fairgrounds Encounter and FBI Involvement

The investigation gained renewed urgency on January 20, 2026, when the victim reported seeing Lipinski at an event at the Yuma County Fairgrounds. Although officers responded to the scene, they were unable to locate the suspect at that time. Due to the international nature of the suspect’s travel and the persistent nature of the threats, the Yuma Police Department collaborated with the FBI to track Lipinski's movements. This joint effort led to his identification and subsequent apprehension at his school.
