Allegations of Multiple Fatal Shootings
The prosecution alleges that Klein committed two distinct murders within Solano County during 2022. The first incident occurred on April 21, 2022, at a gathering on Manzanita Avenue in Fairfield, resulting in the death of fifty-six-year-old Anthony Fuimaono. The second fatal shooting took place on December 15, 2022, in Suisun City while Klein was out of custody on a pretrial services contract related to the initial murder charge. The second victim was identified as thirty-seven-year-old Matthew Muller, who died from a gunshot wound in the Potrero Circle area.
Legal Charges and Potential Sentencing
Klein faces a comprehensive list of charges, including two counts of murder and two counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm. Additionally, he is charged with committing murder while released on his own recognizance and a special circumstance for committing multiple murders. If convicted on all counts, Klein faces a sentence of fifty years to life for the homicides, with the possibility of additional time due to his status as a previously convicted felon and various firearm enhancements.
Pretrial Release and Public Safety Concerns
The case has drawn attention due to Klein’s release prior to the second shooting. Although the prosecution initially objected to bail reduction by citing Klein’s criminal history and alleged past membership in the Nazi Low Riders white supremacist gang, the court released him on a pretrial services contract following his arraignment for the first shooting. It was during this period of release that the second homicide in Suisun City allegedly occurred.
