In a trending video, Abike detailed a "painful" experience involving the 2021 production Ijakumo. The influencer claimed that despite filming multiple scenes for the project, she was shocked to discover at the movie premiere that her entire contribution had been scrubbed from the final cut. Abike expressed disappointment, noting that she had promoted the film under the impression she was a featured cast member.

Disparities in Talent Remuneration

Central to the dispute is the issue of compensation. Abike Shuga alleged that she received a meager N50,000 for her role in Ijakumo, a figure she contrasted with the $600 to $800 fees she typically earns for promotional work on projects led by Funke Akindele. The influencer revealed that she had even turned down a concurrent project with Akindele to honor her commitment to Abraham, believing the latter offered a more significant career opportunity. Abraham clarified that while the N50,000 payment was indeed for two specific scenes in Ijakumo, she had paid Abike a significantly higher sum of N500,000 for her work on the more recent production, Malaika. Regarding the deleted scenes in Ijakumo, the actress maintained that such decisions reside solely with the director and post-production team rather than the producer, emphasizing that technical and narrative requirements often dictate the final edit.
