A Dangerous Pursuit in North Snohomish County
The Marysville Police Department has issued an urgent public safety alert regarding Francisco Moreno, a 40 year old convicted felon who remains at large. Moreno, who frequently uses the aliases "Poncho" and "Frankie," became the subject of an intense search following a violent series of events last Saturday. According to investigators, the suspect allegedly stole his own daughter’s vehicle before engaging in a reckless flight from officers that put the community at risk. Authorities have emphasized that Moreno’s recent behavior suggests a complete disregard for public safety and legal boundaries.
Prior Convictions and Active Warrants
Moreno’s criminal history includes a previous conviction for first degree burglary, a factor that has elevated the urgency of his current apprehension. He is presently wanted on an active Department of Corrections warrant, and police have classified him as a high priority target for regional task forces. Beyond the recent car theft and eluding charges, investigators have received intelligence suggesting that Moreno is consistently armed. This status, combined with his prior violent felony record, has led officials to warn the public against any direct contact with the suspect.
Surveillance Captures Suspect After Vehicle Abandonment
Following the initial high speed chase, surveillance footage was obtained that shows Moreno appearing at a stranger’s residence. Police reports indicate that the suspect dumped the stolen vehicle roughly three hours before he was caught on camera knocking on the door of an unrelated home. This footage has provided investigators with a clear look at his current appearance, though his movements remain erratic. The department is utilizing this digital evidence to trace his path through residential neighborhoods where he may be seeking temporary shelter or additional transportation.
