Future-Proofing the Public Service
In a major push to maintain Singapore's lead in digital governance, the government has established the Digital, Data, and AI Academy (DDA). This new institution is tasked with the monumental goal of upskilling all 150,000 public officers within the next two years. Speaking at the launch event, Minister Chan Chun Sing emphasized that digital literacy is no longer an optional skill but a fundamental requirement for modern governance. The academy will serve as a centralized hub for training, ensuring a consistent level of technical proficiency across all ministries and statutory boards.
Tiered Training for Every Level
The DDA’s curriculum is designed to be inclusive, catering to varying levels of technical expertise. The training is divided into three primary tiers:
Digital Literacy for All: Baseline training for every officer to understand generative AI tools and basic data security.
Specialized Practitioner Training: Intermediate courses for officers who work directly with data sets and policy modeling.
