Staff at the Amity Road facility reported that 87 year old Russell Whitman was last seen on Tuesday, March 10, at approximately 7:15 p.m. Facility administrators expressed immediate concern as Whitman departed the premises without essential medication and is known to require mobility aids, specifically a cane and a walker, for daily movement.

Authorities have issued a Silver Alert for Whitman, who is described as a white male standing 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing approximately 160 pounds. He has gray hair and was last seen wearing a cream colored shirt paired with khaki pants and a brown belt. Whitman is believed to be traveling in a gray 2025 Hyundai Elantra bearing Connecticut registration BV96759. Law enforcement has emphasized that because the vehicle is a newer model, it may be equipped with tracking features that investigators are currently attempting to utilize.
