A Violent Afternoon on Rainier Avenue

The Seattle Police Department (SPD) responded to a high-priority call in the 3400 block of Rainier Avenue South around 3:00 p.m. last Wednesday. A 65-year-old woman reported that she had arranged to meet an acquaintance to exchange property. However, the meeting turned violent when the acquaintance and an accomplice yanked her from her sedan and pushed her to the ground. The two suspects then fled the scene in the victim's white Nissan.

Second Armed Robbery and Assault

Shortly after the initial carjacking, a second report of an armed robbery surfaced in the 3200 block of Claremont Avenue South. Police believe the same two suspects used the stolen Nissan to travel to the new location, where they encountered a 33-year-old man. During this second confrontation, the suspects allegedly pistol-whipped the victim before stealing his power tools.

Rapid Police Response and Arrests

Seattle officers launched an immediate search and located the suspects a short distance away. The 29-year-old suspect was found in a grocery store parking lot in the 2700 block of Rainier Avenue South, where he was reportedly involved in a disturbance with store security at the time of his arrest. Minutes later, the 43-year-old suspect was spotted walking in the same vicinity and taken into custody without further incident.
