A pedestrian in the Mountain View area of San Diego was the victim of a sudden and unprovoked stabbing on Tuesday evening. According to the San Diego Police Department, the 68 year old victim was walking toward a convenience store located in the 4300 block of Keeler Avenue at approximately 6:30 p.m. While in transit, he was approached from behind by an unidentified male who stabbed him once in the rib area before fleeing the immediate vicinity.

Suspect Description and Evasive Flight from the Scene

The assailant was last seen escaping the area on an electric scooter, according to witness statements and police reports. San Diego investigators have described the suspect as a Black male with a thin build. At the time of the incident, he was reportedly wearing a navy blue Chargers jersey and a black face covering to obscure his identity. According to law enforcement, the victim had briefly observed the individual in a nearby alleyway earlier in the evening, though no words or actions were exchanged prior to the physical assault.

Medical Intervention and Current Victim Prognosis

Following the attack, the victim was transported to a local hospital where he underwent emergency surgery. According to medical staff and police updates, the injury to his ribs was significant but is currently considered non-life threatening.
