Large scale drone offensive and interceptions

Russian forces launched a massive aerial assault overnight on March 6, deploying 141 different types of unmanned aerial vehicles against targets across Ukraine. The Ukrainian Air Force confirmed that approximately 100 of these were Shahed type drones. Defense systems successfully intercepted and downed 111 of the incoming aircraft, though several struck residential and infrastructure targets, leading to fires and structural collapses in the affected oblasts.

Casualties and destruction in Kherson and Dnipropetrovsk

In Kherson Oblast, regional governor Oleksandr Prokudin confirmed that one person was killed and four others were wounded due to the persistent shelling over the past day. Simultaneously, Russian forces targeted three districts within Dnipropetrovsk Oblast using a combination of artillery, drones, and Uragan multiple launch rocket systems. Governor Oleksandr Hanzha reported that three civilians were injured in these strikes, including a 15 year old girl, as residential buildings in the area caught fire following the overnight attacks.

Shelling and damage in Donetsk Oblast

The eastern region of Donetsk faced nine separate instances of shelling over the last 24 hours, according to regional governor Vadym Filashkin. One civilian was reported injured in the town of Kostiantynivka, while significant damage was recorded to residential housing and local infrastructure across the Pokrovsk and Kramatorsk districts. The intensity of the strikes has necessitated ongoing humanitarian efforts to move non combatants away from the direct line of fire.
