The Turkmen Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) reported on March 4 that more than 200 foreign nationals have crossed into Turkmenistan from Iran to escape the escalating conflict in the Middle East. Border checkpoints remain operational, with the Turkmen government taking proactive steps to enhance conditions at the Turkmen-Iranian border to facilitate the transit of road vehicles and railway transport. The influx of individuals includes citizens from Central Asian nations, China, Russia, the United States, Türkiye, and several European countries, including Finland, Sweden, and Germany.
