Increased Security Measures
In a statement authorized by Military Commander Ro Jone Kalouniwai on Monday night, the RFMF characterized the move as a "deliberate and measured approach" to recent security challenges. These challenges reportedly include:
Infrastructure Threats: Specific, though undisclosed, threats against national infrastructure.
Violence Against Civilians: Isolated acts of violence targeting both the public and officers in the line of duty.
Unauthorized Access: Recent attempts to breach RFMF installations, though the military maintains that no weapons or ammunition were compromised.
The RFMF reminded the public that providing shelter or assistance to those engaged in criminal activity is a serious offense. "Any attempt to destabilise national security... will be met with firm, lawful and proportionate action," the statement read.
