A Tragic Morning at Century Stone Hill South
The investigation into the death of Sharon Selman reached a somber six year milestone this week, with the Pflugerville Police Department reiterating that a single tip could be the key to solving the case. On the morning of March 31, 2020, officers responded to reports of gunfire at the Century Stone Hill South Apartments in the 1200 block of Town Center Drive. Upon arrival, they discovered Selman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene. According to her daughter, Lakeshia Craft, Selman was simply heading to her car for a morning walk when she was targeted.
Suspect Profile and the 2021 Forensic Sketch
In the year following the homicide, detectives released a forensic sketch based on witness testimony. The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 5'8" to 5'9" tall, weighing roughly 140 lbs. At the time of the shooting, he was reportedly wearing a grey hoodie, black pants, gloves, and a distinctive white industrial-style mask. Despite the release of these specific details and the visual aid, no arrests have been made. Police maintain that the individual depicted in the sketch is a person of interest who may hold critical information regarding the events leading up to Selman’s death.
A Family’s Persistent Plea for Accountability
Lakeshia Craft has remained a vocal advocate for her mother’s memory, frequently addressing the media to keep the case in the public eye. Craft describes her mother as a "light" within the Pflugerville community—a God-fearing woman active in her church’s hospitality committee and Sunday school. In a recent statement, Craft expressed the profound frustration of the past 72 months, noting the difficulty of moving forward without knowing who is responsible or why her mother was chosen as a victim. She characterized the shooter as a "coward" and vowed that the family will not stop seeking the truth.
