The Oyo State Police Command has executed a series of targeted raids resulting in the detention of several individuals allegedly involved in violent crimes across the state. According to Commissioner Abimbola Olugbenga, these arrests occurred at various times and locations as part of a broader strategy to improve regional security. The Commissioner noted that the suspects have confessed to their involvement in various illegal activities, and the command currently holds several items recovered during these operations as evidence for the upcoming judicial proceedings.

Disrupting the Logistics of Vehicle Theft in Ibadan

An investigation into the systematic removal of parked vehicles led to the arrest of Adegboyega Joseph on February 24, 2026. After the case was transferred to the Monitoring Unit from the Ojoo Division, police officials recovered nine Toyota car keys, which served as a catalyst for a deeper probe into the syndicate's infrastructure. This focused investigation subsequently allowed law enforcement to identify and apprehend a suspected receiver, identified as Adebayo Muideen, who is believed to be a central figure in the distribution of stolen automobiles.

Tactical Raids Target Violent Robbery Syndicates

Security forces successfully detained Adeyemi Abiodun, an individual linked to multiple armed robberies within Ibadan and surrounding areas. Upon his arrest, officers seized a pump action gun, six live cartridges, and two expended cartridges, alongside various mobile devices and high value personal items. Based on information gathered during interrogation, a combined team from the Command Monitoring Unit and the Akobo Division moved against a known criminal hideout, leading to the capture of three additional associates, Olaoluwa Ponle, Ahmed Ismaila, and Gbolabo Adisa.
