The Strategic Apprehension of a Terrorist Supply Link
Troops operating under the mandate of Operation Hadin Kai successfully executed a targeted interception in the Monguno Local Government Area on April 20. According to security expert Zagazola Makama, the operation led to the arrest of Chari Kura, a suspected logistics courier believed to be serving the interests of Boko Haram and ISWAP. The arrest took place at approximately 6:20 pm at a tactical location known as Charlie 19, marking a significant disruption in the local insurgent support network.
Intelligence Led Interception at Monguno
The successful capture of the suspect was not a random occurrence but the result of specific, credible intelligence regarding insurgent movements. According to military reports, Kura, who hails from Gajiram in the Nganzai Local Government Area, was tracked as he attempted to navigate through Monguno town. The data suggested he was on a direct route to deliver essential logistics supplies to active terrorist cells located in Bindur village, situated within the Kukawa Local Government Area.
Recovery of Logistics and Communication Assets
Upon the suspect's arrest, military personnel conducted a thorough search and recovered a variety of items intended for insurgent camps. According to the inventory provided by security experts, the seized goods included 180 mosquito coils, 12 packs of Jolly Jus, and an Itel mobile phone. Additionally, a small amount of cash totaling 500 Naira was found in the suspect's possession, illustrating the granular nature of the small scale supply runs that sustain guerrilla operations in the Lake Chad region.
