Coordinated Raid on Illegal Supply Routes
In a strategic blow to illegal supply networks in the North-East, troops of Operation Hadin Kai have arrested five suspected smugglers during a pre-dawn operation along the border communities of Borno and Yobe States. The operation was carried out by the 27 Task Force Brigade in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) on April 19, 2026. The suspects were intercepted along an informal bush path linking the Yunusari–Bukarti axis to Kaula and Gamari—areas known for cross-border movement away from official security scrutiny.
Suspects and Intercepted Assets
The tactical team stopped three Golf vehicles carrying the suspects and a large quantity of materials. The arrested individuals have been identified as Ari Chune (28) from Diffa; Umara Sani (24) from Damasak; and Tijjani Bogo (32), Haruna Ibrahim (17), and Lawan Ahmadu (18), all from the Yunusari Local Government Area. Beyond the personnel, military officials recovered a diverse range of logistical items, including:
39 solar panels and 10 surface pumping machines.
470 pieces of timber and 64 plastic fiber roofing sheets.
