Strategic Upgrades to Public School Infrastructure

The Ogun State Government has intensified its efforts to modernize the learning environment across the state through the commissioning of multiple school infrastructure projects. During a recent ceremony at the Local Government Commercial Secondary School in Atan, Ota, the government inaugurated two blocks consisting of eight modern classrooms. Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Abayomi Arigbabu, noted that these projects fall under the "Ogun Rehabilitation of Halls and Academic Buildings" (OgunREHAB) initiative. This program specifically targets the systematic upgrade of public school facilities to meet contemporary educational standards.

Enhanced Facilities for Effective Learning

The newly commissioned blocks in Ota are equipped with essential utilities, including electricity and modern writing boards. According to Commissioner Arigbabu, the state administration is committed to following up these structural improvements with the provision of adequate furniture to ensure a seamless teaching and learning experience. The government has urged students and faculty to maintain these facilities properly, emphasizing that the longevity of such investments allows the state to allocate resources to other pressing educational needs across the region.

Collaborative Development in Ajilete

In a parallel development at Iyewa High School, Ajilete, the state government commissioned a comprehensive suite of facilities designed to improve both academic performance and student well-being. These upgrades included three blocks of renovated classrooms, a new perimeter fence, modern toilet facilities, and a dedicated borehole for consistent water supply. These specific projects were facilitated with the support of the Commander of the Nigerian Army Corps of Engineers, Shamsideen Shafau, demonstrating a successful collaboration between the state government and security institutions to enhance community infrastructure.
