Adrenaline And Mud Define Easter At Northlands

The vast Northlands City development in Ruiru, Kiambu County, transitioned from a major construction site into a vibrant motorsport hub over the recent Easter long weekend. The estate played host to the Mud for Fun 4x4 Challenge, an off-road festival that drew large crowds of revellers and automotive enthusiasts. This event transformed the expansive property, which is being developed under the guidance of former president Uhuru Kenyatta, into a lively playground for high-adrenaline driving and community engagement.

Rugged Terrain Meets Competitive Motorsport

The festival, now in its sixth edition, was specifically designed to leverage the natural thickets and open grasslands of the estate. Unlike the structured residential or commercial zones, these designated off-road sections provided the necessary environment for custom-built vehicles to navigate challenging obstacle courses. Participants engaged in a variety of activities including time trials, drag races, and drifting, all held within the bush-like perimeter of the property to ensure a rugged, authentic experience.

High Profile Guests Join Family Festivities

Beyond the roar of engines, the event maintained a strong focus on family-friendly entertainment, featuring dedicated food zones, bonfires, and camping grounds. Among the notable attendees was city preacher Muthee Kiengei of Jesus Compassion Ministries, who was observed participating in the festivities with his family. Kiengei, arriving in a classic vehicle alongside his wife, Reverend Joy Benson, was later seen riding an adventure bike with his son, highlighting the inclusive nature of the weekend getaway.
