Expansion into the Heartland
The movement, started by the group Indivisible last year, has seen a 40% surge in participation from smaller communities compared to its initial mobilization. Notably, registration has spiked in traditionally Republican strongholds and key swing suburban areas:
Deep-Red States: High activity reported in Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, and Utah.
Battleground Suburbs: Significant interest in Pennsylvania (Bucks County), Georgia (East Cobb), and Arizona (Scottsdale).
Drivers of Dissent: The Iran War and Domestic Policy
Unlike the October 2025 mobilization, which focused on government shutdowns and immigration enforcement, Saturday's rallies are primarily fueled by opposition to the ongoing U.S.-Israeli military campaign in Iran. Now entering its fourth week, the bombardment of Iran has become a lightning rod for critics who characterize the administration’s foreign policy as an "abuse of power." Civil rights advocates, including the ACLU, argue that these mass demonstrations have previously forced the administration to roll back aggressive policies, such as National Guard deployments in urban centers.
