Escalation at the Herriman Residence

The newly surfaced body-worn camera footage provides a detailed account of the moments leading up to Taylor Frankie Paul’s arrest at her Utah home. The video begins with the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star in a highly agitated state, slurring her words and demanding that her then-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, be removed from the house while she remains inside. Despite officers' attempts to de-escalate the situation by keeping her on the front porch for "breathing cold air," Paul ignored instructions and marched back inside to confront Mortensen in the kitchen.

Interactions with Law Enforcement

Throughout the recording, Paul’s demeanor shifted between tearful distress and outward defiance. At one point, she questioned an officer’s role, asking, "What is your job, exactly?" while he attempted to conduct an interview. When the officer noted her high level of intoxication, Paul claimed she was only a "two out of 10" and challenged him to use a "blezaryzer"—a slurred mispronunciation of breathalyzer. The officer repeatedly urged her to lower her voice to avoid waking her children, pointing out that one child was sleeping on a nearby sofa, to which Paul responded by pointing out the presence of "white noise" machines.

The Call for Family Intervention

Amidst the confrontation, Paul used her cell phone to call her father, Jeremy May, pleading for him to come to the house. During the call, she alleged that Mortensen had pushed her in the garage and claimed the police were preventing her from speaking about it—a claim the officer on-site immediately denied. The officer maintained that his primary objective was to help her "chill" while the lead investigator finished interviewing Mortensen. Paul, however, accused the police of having "no empathy" and being on "his side."
