Detailed Breakdown of Competitive Modes and Maps
The 2026 preseason rotation is built around objective-based gameplay across diverse Marvel-themed environments. The "Convoy" mode, which requires teams to escort a payload through enemy territory, will feature five maps: Midtown, Arakko, Spider-Islands, Yggdrasill Path, and Museum of Contemplation. These environments are designed to offer a balance of verticality and tight chokepoints that challenge both offensive and defensive team compositions.
For "Domination" mode, where teams battle for centralized control points, the pool includes Krakoa, Hell’s Heaven, Birnin T’Challa, and Celestial Husk. The "Convergence" mode—a hybrid that tasks teams with securing an objective before transitioning into a payload escort—features the remaining five maps: Symbiotic Surface, Heart of Heaven, Shin-Shibuya, Hall of Djalia, and Central Park. Notably, NetEase has confirmed that the "Resource Rumble" mode and its associated map, Throne of Knull, have been removed from the competitive rotation.
Tournament Format and Regional Schedules
The Ignite Preseason is structured into three phases: a round-robin Group Stage, a double-elimination Main Stage, and the Grand Finals. In the Americas and EMEA regions, 12 teams will be split into two groups of six, with the top four from each group advancing. The Pacific Asia and Oceania regions will feature eight teams each, utilizing varying round-robin formats to determine which squads move on to the final bracket.
The schedule for the Americas and EMEA regions kicks off with the Group Stage on March 27, culminating in the Grand Finals on April 19. Pacific Asia follows shortly after, with its finals scheduled for April 26, while the Pacific Oceania circuit will conclude on May 3. All Grand Final matches will use a best-of-seven format to ensure the highest level of competitive integrity, whereas earlier stages will use best-of-three or best-of-five series.
