Gunfire Erupts In Southeast Alleyway

Washington D.C. detectives are investigating a high-risk "Endangerment with a Firearm" offense that occurred in the Hill East neighborhood. According to the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), multiple suspects entered a rear alley located in the 1500 block of A Street, Southeast, at approximately 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 14. Once positioned in the alley, the group discharged several firearms. While no injuries were reported to police or local hospitals, the gunfire resulted in significant ballistic damage to nearby buildings and parked vehicles.

CCTV Footage and Persons of Interest

MPD detectives have successfully recovered surveillance video from the vicinity of the shooting. Based on the footage, investigators are seeking to identify and speak with six specific persons of interest. The "mechanical necessity" of public identification is currently the primary lead in the case, as the suspects fled the scene in multiple vehicles immediately after the shots were fired. MPD has released still images from the recovered video to aid the community in recognizing the individuals involved.

The $10,000 Incentive For Information

To encourage witness cooperation, the Metropolitan Police Department is offering a reward of up to $10,000. This incentive is available to anyone who provides information that leads directly to the arrest and conviction of the individuals responsible for the gunfire. This proactive "radical transformation" of the investigation—shifting from passive evidence collection to an incentivized public manhunt—is intended to quickly remove illegal firearms and violent offenders from the Hill East area.
