A Wet Start for the East Coast
Meteorologists from the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) and Sky News have confirmed that no capital city will be completely dry this weekend, though most areas won't face a total washout. The primary concern is a southerly front moving through New South Wales and Queensland on Friday and Saturday.
Sydney: Residents can expect showers building through Friday afternoon. The city will also deal with smoke from scheduled hazard reduction burns. Temperatures will cool slightly but remain mild.
Brisbane: Persistent showers are forecast from Friday through Sunday. A key warning has been issued for boaties and coastal residents regarding strong winds along the Queensland coast throughout the weekend.
North Queensland: Regions like Cairns are bracing for significant rainfall, with totals between 25mm and 100mm expected over the next week.
