The incident began around 7:00 PM Tuesday when police were called to a property on Tairua Whitianga Road in Coroglen. Reports had emerged of a man seen in possession of a firearm. Upon arrival, officers attempted to negotiate with the individual, but he reportedly refused to leave the residence, leading to a prolonged containment of the area.
Drone Deployment and Arrest
To resolve the situation on Wednesday morning, police utilized a combination of surveillance technology and tactical measures.
Tactical Response: A police spokesperson confirmed that a drone was used to monitor the man’s movements within the property.
Resolution: Following the use of what was described as "gas," the man was successfully taken into custody without further incident.
