Emergency Vehicle Theft At Randolph Health
A routine Wednesday at Randolph Health in Asheboro turned into a high-stakes police pursuit after an ambulance was allegedly stolen from the hospital grounds. The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as 27-year-old Allen Ulises Morgan, who reportedly took control of the emergency vehicle on March 18, 2026. Local police quickly requested assistance from county deputies to intercept the vehicle, marking the beginning of a dangerous multi-jurisdictional chase through the North Carolina Piedmont.
Multi-County Chase Ends At Moore Regional Hospital
The pursuit escalated as Morgan allegedly refused to stop for deputies, leading authorities on a chase that spanned from Randolph County into neighboring Moore County. During the flight, the ambulance was reportedly observed driving the wrong way and failing to maintain lane control, posing a significant risk to public safety. The chase eventually concluded when Morgan drove the stolen vehicle to Moore Regional Hospital, where he was apprehended by law enforcement without further incident. Despite the high-risk nature of the maneuver, officials confirmed that no injuries were reported during the event.
Extensive List Of Criminal Charges Filed
Following his arrest, Morgan was transported back to the Randolph County Jail, where he faces a litany of serious offenses. The charges include larceny of a vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle, and fleeing to elude arrest with a motor vehicle. Additionally, he is charged with hit and run resulting in property damage, resisting a public officer, and several traffic violations, including driving with a revoked license and misuse of the 911 system. A judge set his bond at $15,000 as he awaits his initial court proceedings.
