Investigation into February Assault Allegations
The Lawton Police Department has concluded an investigation into a reported assault involving 36-year-old Linnea Shirley. According to court records, the incident took place in February after Shirley allegedly invited an 18-year-old male to her private residence. What was intended as a social visit reportedly turned into a criminal encounter when Shirley began making aggressive, unwanted sexual advances toward the teenager.
Physical Evidence and Victim Testimony
The teen fled the scene and subsequently filed a formal report with local authorities. Investigators stated that the victim described being forcibly restrained and kissed against his will. During the initial interview, officers documented bruising on the victim's wrists. Police reports indicate that the nature and placement of the bruising were consistent with the victim's account of being held down and prevented from leaving the premises.
Shirley Refuses Police Interview
In the weeks following the report, investigators attempted to contact Shirley to gather her statement regarding the allegations. Court records state that Shirley did not report to the police station for a scheduled interview. Instead, she obtained legal counsel and declined to speak with officers. Due to the lack of cooperation and the physical evidence gathered at the onset of the probe, the Comanche County District Attorney's Office moved forward with formal charges.
