A High-Impact Collision at a Busy Southwest Intersection

The tranquility of a Monday morning was shattered near West Charleston Boulevard and South Cimarron Road when a violent multi-vehicle accident left several people hospitalized. According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the incident began around 9:30 a.m. when a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado traveling through the area failed to stop for a red light. The pickup truck entered the intersection at a high rate of speed, initiating a chain reaction that involved two other passenger vehicles and brought traffic to a complete standstill in the southwest valley.

Chain Reaction Forces Vehicles into Oncoming Lanes

The initial impact occurred when the Silverado broadsided a 2012 Hyundai Sonata that was legally proceeding along Cimarron Road. The force of the collision was substantial enough to propel both the truck and the sedan into the westbound lanes of travel. Once there, the out-of-control Silverado struck a third vehicle, a 2004 Chrysler Sebring, which had been stopped at the time. This secondary impact compounded the wreckage and trapped several occupants inside their vehicles until emergency responders arrived on the scene.

Critical Injuries and Emergency Medical Response

Medical personnel faced a dire situation upon arrival, ultimately transporting four individuals to University Medical Center for urgent care. The driver of the Hyundai Sonata suffered the most severe consequences, with authorities describing their injuries as life-threatening. A passenger in the same vehicle sustained substantial trauma, while two individuals inside the Chrysler Sebring were treated for moderate injuries. The scale of the medical response underscored the severity of the impact caused by the initial red-light violation.
