A New Vision for Africa’s Premier Smart City

Konza Technopolis has signaled a major expansion of its brand identity by hosting the "Race Wars" motorsport event over the 2026 Easter weekend. Traditionally viewed as a hub for technology and digital innovation, the smart city is now positioning itself as a premier global lifestyle and sports destination. The two-day event attracted over 1,500 attendees, including creatives, innovators, and industry stakeholders, showcasing the city’s ability to host large-scale, community-centric gatherings within its modern infrastructure.

High Performance Racing on Modern Infrastructure

The competition featured 40 high-performance racing cars participating in two distinct formats: rolling races and DIG races. These events took place on Konza’s half-mile streetscape, utilizing the city's smooth and wide tarmac stretches. According to Delta Motorsports Club Chairperson Sunil Bhachu, the venue offers a controlled and safe environment that is ideal for competitive racing. The event demonstrated that the city’s evolving infrastructure is as suited for high-octane sports as it is for technological research and development.

Recognizing Excellence in Local Motorsports

After two days of intense competition, several winners were crowned across multiple categories. Lexus Musa secured the top spot in the 1000cc Bikers category, while Salman Mohamed emerged as the victor in the two-wheel drive car category. Jeremy Kithome was recognized as the best driver in the Open Class category. These winners were honored by Konza Technopolis Chief Manager for Business Development and Innovation, Josephine Ndambuki, highlighting the smart city’s commitment to recognizing and fostering local athletic talent.
