Kosherbayev’s meetings with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and President Vahagn Khachaturyan resulted in the advancement of a trade program spanning 2026 to 2030, with a specific focus on artificial intelligence, nuclear energy, and digitalization. A significant cultural and educational cornerstone of the visit was the agreement to establish a branch of the TUMO center in Astana, signaling a shift toward high-tech collaboration alongside traditional agricultural exports like grain and meat.

Baku Becomes Pivotal Link for Energy Diversification

The tour’s stop in Azerbaijan underscored the strategic necessity of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route for Kazakhstan’s energy independence. Minister Kosherbayev and President Ilham Aliyev discussed a roadmap to increase bilateral trade from its 2025 level of $470.7 million to a target of $1 billion. Key to this alliance are infrastructure projects involving subsea power cables and fiber-optic lines across the Caspian Sea.
