A Long-Awaited Interior Overhaul

After seven years of maintaining the same interior aesthetic, YouTuber Judy Nyawira has revealed a complete transformation of her family mansion. In a detailed video shared on April 27, Nyawira documented the transition from her "out of fashion" furniture to a modern, minimalist look. The decision to revamp was a personal goal set at the end of 2025, driven by a desire to refresh the living space and replace items that had fallen into disrepair after years of use.

The End of the Recliner Era

The centerpiece of the renovation was the removal of the couple’s brown recliner seats. Judy revealed that the seats were originally purchased for KSh 109,000 during an end-of-year sale seven years ago. At the time of purchase, the couple did not have the full amount and received financial assistance from close friends and industry colleagues Kate Actress and Phil Director. While Judy insisted that recliners are no longer in vogue, Abel Mutua initially resisted the change due to the comfort they provided after work. As a compromise, the old seats have been moved to his office at Phil It Productions.

Modern Design Choices and Layout Changes

The newly revamped living room has traded the bulky recliners for sleek, non-reclining sofas complemented by a black coffee table. The home’s entrance was also updated with a decorated stand and a leopard-print stool, adding a touch of contemporary flair. Judy noted that her husband’s reaction to the new setup was one of relaxation, with Abel jokingly remarking that he wouldn't go to work anymore and would focus on resting in the upgraded space.
