Targeted Strikes in the Bint Jbeil Security Zone

In two distinct incidents on Monday, soldiers from the 35th Paratroopers Brigade identified Hezbollah operatives moving within the Bint Jbeil area, a strategically significant town currently situated within the IDF-held security zone. According to military reports, these individuals ignored ceasefire protocols by approaching Israeli positions in a provocative manner. The IDF characterized the movement as a direct violation of the standing "ceasefire understandings," prompting the IAF to execute precision strikes to neutralize the threat. Bint Jbeil remains a focal point of the conflict, having been recently besieged by Israeli forces during the March-April escalation.

Engagement Near the Litani River Defensive Line

A separate engagement occurred near the Litani River, where troops of the Golani Brigade spotted Hezbollah members operating within the forward defensive line. The military reported that these operatives were identified after moving toward Israeli forces in a way that signaled an imminent attack. Following their identification, the IAF was called in to eliminate the group. These strikes align with Israel’s stated policy of maintaining an active presence up to the Litani River to prevent the southward transit of militants and weaponry during the fragile 10-day pause in hostilities.

Lebanese Reports of Infrastructure Strikes

Lebanese media outlets provided additional context to the IAF operations, reporting that one of the strikes targeted a location in the town of Qaaqaait al-Jisr. According to these reports, the aerial hit occurred at a site previously used as a crossing point over the Litani River that had already sustained damage in prior bombardments. While the IDF maintains its strikes were focused on active "terrorist" threats, local sources in Lebanon frequently cite such incidents as evidence of continued Israeli aggression against civilian and transit infrastructure despite the standing truce.
