Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Olatunji Disu, speaking at the Presidential Villa following his swearing-in ceremony on Wednesday, clarified that the federal force views state police as a partner in progress rather than a threat to its authority. Disu emphasized that "state police has come to stay" and indicated that his administration would proactively assist in making the transition successful, marking a significant departure from previous institutional skepticism.
