Deadly Confrontation in Southern Lebanon

The Israel Defense Forces have neutralized a three-person Hezbollah cell following a significant military engagement in the southern Lebanese town of Bint Jbeil. According to military reports issued on Tuesday, the skirmish occurred overnight when soldiers from the Paratroopers Brigade’s 101st Battalion encountered the armed group. The encounter quickly escalated into a direct exchange of fire, marking one of the more intense tactical clashes in the region during recent operations.

Casualties Reported Among Paratrooper Units

The overnight battle resulted in various degrees of injuries for ten Israeli paratroopers involved in the mission. Military records indicate that three of the soldiers are currently in serious condition, while one was categorized as being in moderate condition. An additional six troops sustained light injuries during the firefight. According to the IDF, the wounded personnel were treated following the conclusion of the immediate tactical threat posed by the Hezbollah gunmen.

Coordinated Response Eliminates Cell Members

Following the initial exchange of fire, the 101st Battalion utilized a multi-layered response to suppress and eliminate the attackers. The military confirmed that two of the Hezbollah operatives were killed at the scene through a combination of return fire from the paratroopers and precision tank shelling. Airstrikes were also deployed during the height of the engagement to ensure the containment of the cell and to prevent reinforcement of the hostile position.
