Strategic Enforcement Against Violent Offenders

In a series of targeted operations concluded this week, ICE agents apprehended multiple individuals who had been previously convicted of major felonies in various U.S. jurisdictions. A DHS press release highlighted that the current administration's enforcement priorities are focused heavily on those who have committed "heinous crimes." According to DHS data, the majority of the immigration agency’s recent activity centers on individuals who have already moved through the American criminal justice system for offenses ranging from narcotics distribution to first-degree murder.

High-Profile Homicide Arrests

Among the most significant arrests were two individuals previously convicted of murder. Cesar Verduzco-Rojas, a Mexican national, was taken into custody following a prior conviction in Perris, California, linked to a fatal 2021 shooting. Similarly, Jermaine Dalton Crosley, a Jamaican national, was apprehended after a third-degree murder conviction in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Court records from the Pennsylvania case indicate that the incident involved a fatal dispute over a property vacancy. The removal of these individuals from local communities is being framed by federal officials as a critical component of public safety.

Apprehension of Convicted Sex Offenders

The roundup also resulted in the capture of several registered sex offenders. Santos Cornelio Ramos Vasquez, a Guatemalan national, was arrested following a conviction in Los Angeles for lewd acts with a minor under the age of 14. In a separate operation in Utah, agents nabbed Alber Eleazar Blanco, a Venezuelan national previously convicted of forcible sexual abuse in Provo. Federal officials emphasized that the presence of such offenders in American neighborhoods remains a top priority for the agency’s Fugitive Operations teams.
