Coordinated Raid on McCully Gaming Room

A multi divisional operation by the Honolulu Police Department (HPD) successfully dismantled an illegal gambling operation in the McCully neighborhood this week. On Thursday, members of the Narcotics/Vice Division executed a search warrant on a suspected illicit gaming room. The tactical entry was supported by the Specialized Services Division and the District 7 Crime Reduction Unit. Upon securing the premises, investigators discovered a fully operational gambling environment that had been functioning outside the bounds of state law.

Evidence and Asset Seizure

The raid yielded a significant amount of evidence and contraband. According to HPD officials, officers confiscated 13 electronic gambling machines and recovered approximately $2,000 in cash. In addition to the gaming equipment, investigators located suspected illicit drugs and various items of drug related paraphernalia on site. Photographs released by the department show stacks of currency and rows of seized gaming consoles being processed by evidence technicians. The presence of narcotics indicators suggests the establishment may have served as a hub for multiple types of criminal activity.

Suspect Apprehension and Felony Charges

A 53 year old male was arrested at the scene in connection with the operation. He is currently facing potential charges of second degree promoting gambling and the unlawful possession of a gambling device. While the suspect’s identity has not been formally released pending the filing of a criminal complaint, authorities have indicated that he was instrumental in the daily management of the McCully facility. The HPD legal team is currently reviewing the evidence to determine if additional narcotics related charges will be added to the docket.
