Governor Hope Uzodimma has formally assured aspirants within the All Progressives Congress that the upcoming primary elections will be conducted with absolute fairness. Speaking at a critical stakeholders’ forum at the party’s secretariat in Owerri, the Governor emphasized that the administration will uphold the highest standards of internal democracy. This pledge aims to maintain party cohesion as the APC prepares for a series of local and regional electoral contests, requiring all participants to adhere to a code of sportsmanlike conduct.

Expansion Plans for State Party Infrastructure

In a direct response to the increasing size of the party’s rank and file, Governor Uzodimma disclosed plans to establish a more expansive state secretariat. He noted that the current facility has become insufficient for the party's operational needs and directed the state chairman, Chief Austin Onyedebelu, to initiate land allocation requests through the Ministry of Lands. This new headquarters is intended to serve as a befitting hub for a political organization that the Governor claims has gained unprecedented prominence in the region.

Political Dominance and the Decline of Opposition

During his address to national and state assembly members, Uzodimma asserted that the APC has effectively become the only functional political entity in Imo State. He attributed this dominance to the implementation of progressive, people oriented policies that have resonated with the local electorate.
