A Birth Amidst Ongoing Legal Proceedings
Tamika Chesser, a former contestant on the Australian series Beauty and the Geek, has reportedly given birth while in state custody. The thirty-four year old was pregnant at the time of her arrest in mid 2025 and is currently being held at a secure mental health facility located outside of Adelaide. While the birth was confirmed by local news reports on Monday, the identity of the child’s father has not been disclosed to the public. Chesser remains under intense legal scrutiny as authorities continue to build their case regarding the violent death of her domestic partner.
The Discovery of a Violent Crime Scene
The criminal investigation began in June 2025 when emergency services responded to a reported fire at an apartment complex in Port Lincoln. Upon entering the unit shared by Chesser and thirty-nine year old Julian Story, police discovered a scene described by investigators as deeply confronting. The victim had been killed and dismembered, with authorities noting that the head had been removed from the torso. Witnesses at the scene reported seeing Chesser in a detached state, sitting in the rear yard of the property shortly after the fire was extinguished by a neighbor.
The Long Search for Forensic Evidence
For weeks following the initial discovery, South Australian police conducted extensive searches to locate the missing remains of the victim. It was not until late July 2025 that a dog roaming through local scrubland discovered a skull, which was later forensically confirmed to be that of Julian Story. Detective Fielke emphasized to the media that recovering the remains was a critical priority to allow the family to proceed with funeral arrangements. The discovery of the skull provided a pivotal piece of evidence for the prosecution as they prepared for upcoming court appearances.
