Classroom Presentations Rife with Tropes

The complaint centers on the experiences of a 16-year-old 11th-grade student who was reportedly one of the only Jewish students in the Bay District Schools system. In a media studies class during the 2025 school year, classmates reportedly delivered a PowerPoint presentation that utilized antisemitic tropes and white supremacist imagery. Visuals included Jeffrey Epstein juxtaposed with the Israeli flag and IDF logo, alongside a popular white supremacist meme featuring a religious Jewish man saying, “The goyim know. Shut it down.” Despite the nature of the content, the complaint alleges that teachers did not interrupt or condemn the presentations.

Nazi Salutes and Systematic Harassment

According to the ADL and the Akerman law firm, the harassment extended beyond a single classroom. In a separate incident weeks later, students allegedly performed Nazi salutes while wearing kippahs and presenting conspiracies regarding "dual loyalty" and Jewish influence over the U.S. government. The student also reported frequent sightings of swastikas drawn on desks and bathroom stalls. Once classmates identified the student as Jewish, the complaint alleges they were targeted with Sieg Heil salutes and verbal abuse regarding antisemitic stereotypes about money.

Failure of District Response

The student’s mother initially prompted a district investigation into the media studies presentation. While that investigation reportedly confirmed the presentation amounted to "antisemitic harassment," the complaint asserts that the district failed to take any disciplinary or corrective action. The victimized student has since moved out of the state to attend a different school due to the ongoing bullying, which the complaint states had been a persistent issue since elementary school.
