The "Blue Eyes" Confusion
During his podcast appearance, Howard recalled a conversation from "very, very long ago" where he allegedly chose to pursue a different group member over the "Texas Hold ‘Em" singer. While he didn't name Franklin explicitly, his description of a member with "blue eyes" led fans to point toward the short-term member. Franklin responded with a lighthearted correction: “I’m Farrah with the natural green eyes (not Blue lol), and I can confirm that Terrence and I had a few friendly outings—nothing romantic.”
Professional Mutual Respect
Despite denying a romantic connection, Franklin spoke warmly of Howard’s talent. She noted that their time together was centered around creative spaces rather than dating. “We went to the studio a few times, and I will say that Terrence is super talented!” she told PEOPLE. Franklin took a diplomatic stance on the rest of Howard's claims, stating she wouldn't speculate on his version of events and wished everyone well.
A Look Back at the 2005 BET Awards
Howard’s claims included a specific memory from the 2005 BET Awards, where Destiny’s Child performed their hit "Cater 2 U." During the set, the trio—Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams—brought Howard, Nelly, and Magic Johnson onstage. Howard suggested that Beyoncé’s choice to serenade him was a deliberate "striptease" to show him what he had "lost." However, industry veterans note that such performances are typically choreographed and vetted by production teams well in advance of the live broadcast.
