Judicial Sentencing and Maximum Penalties
Judge Stephanie Grogan Jones imposed the maximum sentence allowed under California law for the manslaughter conviction. Johnson received eleven years for the voluntary manslaughter charge and an additional year was added for a deadly weapon enhancement after the jury confirmed he used a knife during the crime. The total twelve-year term was finalized after the court listened to several emotional victim impact statements from the family of the deceased.
Victims' Family Testimonies and Impact
During the sentencing hearing Moore’s mother, Ginsi Robinson, shared a written statement describing her son as an inspiration who lived his life with goodness and shared his dreams with others. Moore’s wife, Jehssikah Plummer, who is also the defendant's sister, described the actions as senseless and noted that Johnson had betrayed the family in the most unjust way possible. She emphasized that Moore was the light of their lives and that his death has destroyed the lives of countless people.
Circumstances of the Violent Confrontation
The fatal stabbing took place on May 27, 2025, after a physical altercation between the two men escalated. According to Fairfield police investigators the conflict began as a fist fight outside the residence before moving inside where Johnson stabbed Moore twice in the chest, puncturing his lungs. Following the attack Johnson fled the scene and was eventually located and arrested twenty-four hours later at a motel in Vallejo.
