Late Night Disturbance on Evansville’s East Side

Evansville Police Department officers responded to a residential burglary in progress call just before 11:30 p.m. Saturday on Park Ridge Drive. The victims reported that their Ring doorbell alert was triggered, prompting the female resident to check the door. Expecting her son to be returning from a concert, she was instead met by Connor Rollins, who lives a few doors down. The victim stated that Rollins was attempting to gain entry when the family's German Shepherd began barking at him to defend the home.

Physical Restraint and Verbal Threats

According to police reports, Rollins reacted to the dog by physically restraining it with his hands. When the victim confronted him at the door, Rollins allegedly looked at her and issued a death threat, stating, “If you ever come down my street again, i’ll f****** kill you.” Following the verbal altercation, Rollins fled the scene on foot. Officers arrived shortly after to find the victims unharmed but shaken by the aggressive nature of the encounter and the specific threat made against their lives.

Erratic Behavior and Apprehension

Police located Rollins at his nearby residence and spoke with his roommate and girlfriend. Both witnesses described Rollins as behaving incoherently, rambling about people being "after them" and claiming he needed to protect the household. The roommate reported later finding Rollins sitting in a vehicle without keys while holding a torch. When officers took Rollins into custody, he reportedly claimed he had just returned home from local bars. His erratic behavior and inability to provide a logical explanation for his presence at the neighbor's home suggest a period of significant disorientation.
