Records indicate that 20-year-old Jaylin Walker arrived at the home at approximately 11:30 a.m. Shortly after his entry, smoke began billowing from a northwest window where someone appeared to struggle with a mattress. Moments later, an "extremely bright orange flash" was visible inside the bedroom, and the structure became fully engulfed in less than five seconds. While Walker was observed exiting the home with his jacket melting from the heat, his mother was unable to escape and was later discovered in a second-floor bedroom.
